Billion Dollar House #9

The Prince's Palace, Monaco
If it's acreage you're after, look elsewhere. If it's fun in the sun, stop here. Monaco, located to the extreme south of France, may be only 482 acres, but fun can't be measured in size. And with a population of less than 30,000, Monaco has that small-town feel perfect for families.
Assuming you pay $1 billion for Prince Rainier III's palace near the shores of the Mediterranean, that's about $1.4 million for every year of the palace's existence (it was built in the 13th century). And if you throw in the prince's collection of more than 100 classic cars and maybe some of the Grimaldi family's art, $1 billion is a bargain. Still not sure about the place? Just think how much you can save with the local tax laws.
